BRINGING TOGETHER WINE & WILDERNESS
A robust blend of wineries, vintners, growers, and businesses who share a common vision of protecting additional wilderness areas, landscapes and free-flowing rivers in the Los Padres National Forest
The Los Padres National Forest contains some of our region's last remaining undeveloped places. One way to protect these special places is by designating them as wilderness under the Wilderness Act. Wilderness designation provides reliable longterm protection for the forest while respecting working farms, ranches and vineyards. It is the mountains, rivers, and forest that have, for millennia, refined the terroir of this area, and it is now our responsibility to protect them.
Wine & Wilderness: A Perfect Paring
CLEAN WATER - These wild areas contain the pristine headwaters for our streams and rivers, the lifeblood of local farms and communities.
SWEEPING VIEWS - Rising to an average of 5000 feet above the valley floors, Los Padres National Forest can be seen from almost every tasting room and vineyard in the area.
WILDLIFE - The forest provides homes to myriad species of wildlife, including bees and many other pollinators that sustain our region's agricultural fields.
TOURISM - Local wilderness and wild rivers are destinations for tens of thousands of tourists a year to come enjoy these areas, many of whom then flock to our region's wineries and tasting rooms.
RECREATION - Wilderness and wild rivers provide numerous opportunities for families to rejuvenate and enjoy nature.
FRESH AIR - Addressing a basic need: the forest's many trees and plants clean the air while producing oxygen for us to breathe
